On page 14 we read, “Our reference to “the whole church” is not a presumptuous claim that the universal church and the evangelical community are synonymous. For we recognize that there are many churches which are not part of the evangelical movement. Evangelical attitudes to the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches differ widely. Some evangelicals are praying, talking, studying Scripture and working with these churches. Others are strongly opposed to any form of dialogue or cooperation with them. All are aware that serious theological differences between us remain. Where appropriate, and so long as biblical truth is not compromised, cooperation may be possible in such areas as Bible translation, the study of contemporary theological and ethical issues, social work and political action. We wish to make it clear, however, that common evangelism demands a common commitment to the biblical gospel. Some of us are members of churches which belong to the World Council of Churches and believe that a positive but critical participation in its work is our Christian duty. Others among us have no link with the World Council. All of us urge the World Council of Churches to adopt a consistent biblical understanding of evangelism.”

What is apparent is that in 1989 the Lausanne movement was divided over the issue of ecumenism. Some wanted to stay well clear of it and others believed it was a Christian’s duty to be involved in order to maintain the unity within the “whole body of Christ”. What is clear is that at this stage the Lausanne Movement regarded the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches as part of the body of Christ, albeit recognising that theological differences with evangelicalism would prohibit in participation with those churches in any official evangelism. However when one accepts Roman Catholism or the Orthodox churches as legitimate expressions of Christianity it will just be a matter of time till ecumenical compromise sets in.

Though Lausanne Consultation for Jewish Evangelism may repudiate any allegation that they are in partnership with the Vatican, as we saw with the open letter to David Sedaca, the idea of ecumenical unity has been praised and promoted. David Sedaca literally stated that an ecumenical meeting between evangelicals and Catholics demonstrates the unity that only Christ can bring! This is highly dangerous for it only serves to encourage ecumenism while most of orthodox evangelicalism sits by quietly without calling him to account. In the petition I have drawn up I have gratefully received 82 signatures but 82 people is a very small number. In the Lausanne Bulletin 103, February 2011, the same David Sedaca that spoke of ecumenism with Roman Catholics and evangelicals demonstrating Christ’s unity, stated the following, “We may receive opposition from the church. Some churches may have a distorted view of what we are doing, but let’s build bridges, not walls. We are all part of the Body of Messiah. We are all part of the church. Our role is not isolation, but integration that respects our uniqueness and calling. There may be problems within Jewish evangelism…. Today we are confronted by strange theologies (Ephraimites, Talmudists, strong charismatics, personality cults), so we must take a stand for what we believe- otherwise we have believed in vain.”

When Mr Sedaca was challenged to make a stand against the Roman Catholic Church and put right his recommendation of the ecumenical meeting he promoted with praiseworthy language he refused to make a stand against the false gospel of Rome. Brethren, does this not concern you or shake your confidence in this man and the organisation he is representing? As Mr Sedaca wrote this report after his recommendation of ecumenism one can only assume that when he states that we are all part of the Body of Messiah he is including Roman Catholic Churches also. So do we need to build bridges?

Since the second Lausanne Congress in Manila 1989 the third Lausanne Congress took place in Cape Town in 2010. The document that came out of this was called the Cape Town Commitment. On page 3 of the Cape Town commitment it states, “While we speak and write from the evangelical tradition in The Lausanne Movement, we affirm the oneness of the Body of Christ, and gladly recognize that there are many followers of the Lord Jesus Christ within other traditions. We welcomed several senior representatives from several historic churches of other traditions as observers in Cape Town, and we trust The Cape Town Commitment may be helpful to churches of all traditions.”

It seems the gap is lessening. Where as the Manila Manifesto claimed that cooperation in evangelism would not be possible with non evangelical forms of Christianity though Lausanne assert that the Body of Christ is wider than the evangelical tradition and clearly intimated that it accepted that the wider body of Christ included the Roman Catholic and Orthodox traditions. But in The Cape Town Commitment we read on page 19, “We urgently seek a new global partnership within the body of Christ across all continents, rooted in profound mutual love, mutual submission, and dramatic economic sharing without paternalism or unhealthy dependency.”

On page 44, though there is a repudiation of the prosperity gospel as unbiblical, nothing is stated about the false gospel of Rome which is extremely dangerous when one looks at what they say under the section entitled, “IIF – Partnering in the Body of Christ for unity in mission.”

“1. Unity in the Church.

A divided Church has no message for a divided world. Our failure to live in reconciled unity is a major obstacle to authenticity and effectiveness in mission.

a) We lament the dividedness and divisiveness of our churches and organizations. We deeply and urgently long for Christians to cultivate a spirit of grace and to be obedient to Paul’s command to ‘make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.’

b) While we recognize that our deepest unity is spiritual, we long for greater recognition of the missional power of visible, practical, earthly unity. So we urge Christian brothers and sisters worldwide, for the sake of our common witness and mission, to resist the temptation to split the body of Christ, and to seek the paths of reconciliation and restored unity wherever possible.

….We stand together as church and mission leaders in all parts of the world, called to recognize and accept one another, with equality of opportunities to contribute together to world mission. Let us, in submission to Christ, lay aside suspicion, competition and pride, and be willing to learn from those whom God is using, even when they are not from our continent, nor of our particular theology, nor of our organization, nor of our circle of friends.”

It should be clear that Lausanne is wanting to network outside of the evangelical tradition of Christianity, albeit with possible caution. They are confessedly open to ecumenism. It is no surprise that David Sedaca sat on the fence when asked concerning his praise of ecumenism saying that he neither condones it or condemns it. This is not to say that all members of Lausanne feel this way but the movement itself definitely does. Read this following excerpt from a Roman Catholic forum concerning a letter written to them from a representative from LCJE member “Jews for Jesus”.

We have been to numerous fellowships, community groups and home Bible studies comprised of Catholics who have a personal relationship with Jesus. —————->We often present “Christ in the Passover,” a sermonic demonstration that illustrates how the Jewish feast foreshadows the coming of Christ and fits beautifully with the Eucharist.<———-

We have not found, however, the same spirit of acceptance within the Roman Catholic Church proper. Part of the problem has to do with the doctrines of the Catholic Church, and part of it has to do with Jews for Jesus. While Jews for Jesus stresses unity always above differences within the Body of Christ, we generally do not feel welcome in the regular Mass of the Catholic Church."

What will Jews for Jesus publically state concerning such claims. Will they let this be publicized by Roman Catholics? Are they really in agreement with such a statement? Silence will only condemn someone as an accomplice.

In the Jews for Jesus magazine "Issues. Volume 17:4" Several Jews who converted to Roman Catholicism are lauded. The main article concerns Cardinal Jean-Marie Lustiger who maintained his Jewish identity while a Roman Catholic. On page 5 the author of the article, Josh Turnil, sadly equates Lustiger's conversion to Catholicism as conversion to Christianity. No qualification is made to say that it was an unbiblical form of "Christianity". How can sound evangelical Christians make such a blunder so as to equate the Roman Catholic Church as a legitimate expression of Christianity. Rome holds to a different gospel! Ecumenism is even more serious an error than replacement theology and just as important an issue as accepting the need of Jews to hear the gospel. To glory in causing an organization to recognize the need for Jewish missions while promoting unity with non evangelical forms of "Christianity" is a major defeat! Not a victory! Replacement theologians will automatically agree with such a position believing that Jews are no different to any other people as they do not retain a special place in God's eyes.

Is it any wonder that Lausanne are taking this path when their founder was ecumenist Billy Graham and the honorary chairman of the Lausanne movement used to be the late John Stott?

The question that each of us must ask ourselves concerning this issue is what our reaction should be. We must seek the Lord for His direction concerning how we are to stand against this tide of ecumenism that is rising rapidly in the conservative evangelical camp. To shut our eyes and hope it to go away is naive. It must be spoken against and refuted in the strongest possible terms as Paul strongly and aggressively contested the false gospel of the Galatians Judaisers. Though I believe that we should be patient and soft with those doubting, there can be little soft patience with the people promoting this deception. We must call them to account and to reject both ecumenism and the promotion of ecumenism. In Genesis 3:1 we read “Now the serpent was more subtil than any

beast of the field”. The word “subtil” would be well understood

as meaning ‘crafty’ in today’s language.

Into a clear-cut situation “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” [Genesis 2:16-17] the serpent [Satan] introduces confusion – “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?… Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” [Genesis 3:1,4&5]

The consequence of Satan’s Subtle Strategy was

‘the fall’ and its effects are everywhere still evident today.

God’s clear-cut remedy for the salvation of fallen man is

through the proclamation of His ‘gospel’ “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” [Romans 1:16] and “it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe” [1 Corinthians 1:21].

To try and counteract the saving effectiveness of God’s ‘gospel’ Satan has remained faithful to his tried and trusted tactic of sowing confusion. We are now living in days of unprecedented uncertainty where the very essence of ‘the gospel’ is concerned and it is all due to Satan’s age-old ploy of questioning the truth and reliability of God’s word – still today Satan says “Yea, hath God said”?

Not only has Satan sought to pollute and pervert the core ingredients of God’s ‘gospel’ but he has also sought to confuse the identity and distinguishing marks of a true ‘Christian’. The success of this strategy is best seen in a number of developments in recent years. The most worrying aspect of all of this is that many who describe themselves as being ‘EVANGELICAL’ show the greatest evidence of being the victims of Satan’s Strategy of sowing confusion. Earlier I mentioned ‘developments in recent years’ so let me briefly mention a few of these by way of example

These theological hybrid endeavours have produced a rich harvest of deadly poisonous fruit when they speak of how a person becomes a Christian and when they spread the ‘testimonies’ of those claiming to be Christian. Rather than bringing clarity into the realm of the matters addressed they have served only to introduce widespread confusion. Many of God’s people have been greatly troubled by these developments. They have to a degree lost peace of mind over matters that were formerly never in dispute. Why has this happened and who is at the back of it all? The scriptures assist us greatly with these words “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace” [1 Corinthians 14:33].

Satan has without doubt been very busy.

Briefly I would like to detail some of the ‘genetically modified’

teachings and testimonies that genuine evangelical believers

are being asked to swallow and accept as being both faithful

sound doctrine and testimony of belonging to Christ’s sheep.

If you refer back to the article in my last newsletter entitled

‘Ecumenical “stones for bread” (Luke 11:11) in Ballymena’

you will discover an uncanny similarity between what Russell Birney preached and what Trevor Morrow has here written. They are obviously ‘singing from the same perverted ecumenical hymn-sheet’ to persuade people that the term ‘Evangelical Catholic’ is not what it truly is – a contradiction in terms.

Can you see the importance of sounding the alarm against ecumenical compromise? More and more people are following suit and silently joining hands with the Roman Catholic Church. The Lausanne Consultation for Jewish Evangelism seems to be yet another brick in the wall of ecumenical compromise. May people take note and take action.

In the words of Reginald Uka the 75 signatory of the Petition:

If there are Roman Catholics who take part in the Mass, who is to say that they are not Christians? What is so bad about taking the Catholic Mass? It surely does not mean these people follow another Gospel does it?

The Gospel saves us from idolatry and tells us to repent. Anybody in scripture that got saved turned from idolatry and in the case of the Corinthians seriously admonished if they continued to eat meat sacrificed to idols. The Roman Catholic Church teaches a doctrine called ‘transubstantiation’. This means that when the priest prays over the bread and wine in the Roman Catholic Mass the bread and wine, though still looking accidentally like bread and wine, actually change substance and become the very body and blood of Jesus. This is called the ‘real presence’. When Roman Catholics take communion, they believe that they are actually eating Jesus. The bread and wine are called the Eucharistic. Eucharist comes from the Greek word ‘Eucharisto’ which means ‘thanksgiving’ but the Roman Catholic is doing more that thanking God. They think they are worshipping Jesus whom they are eating. If the bread and wine turn into the literal body and blood of Jesus then there is no problem with the mass. But if the bread and wine do not change, then in treating the bread and wine as if those emblems are Jesus are they not guilty of idolatry? If the bread and wine do literally become the body and blood of the Lord then I am in serious peril for I have blasphemed the Lord. Idolatry is something we must all guard against but the difference with the mass is that it is institutionalized idolatry and the official dogma of the Catholic Church. Thus to embrace the Mass as part of ones salvation – it is also taught as a means of acquiring grace to lessen ones time in purgatory – would deny the Gospel of its call to repent from all idolatry. In some cases I believe there would be innocence in ignorance but not in the case of the top brass. Not in the case of Roman Catholic Archbishop, Monsignor Luis Alberto Rivas of Saint Joseph Basilica.  I would be much softer in my tone concerning the average Roman Catholic but I do not lessen my view of the Vatican.

Of course it must be admitted that Catholics do not believe that they are worshipping a piece of bread for they do not believe the bread is bread. It is the very body of Christ. So from their perspective it is a sin not to worship the Eucharistic host because the bread is Jesus. The following Catholic forum and attached article by the catholic news agency spells this out. http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=438849  . Thus, if the Eucharist is not Jesus in a literal sense then Roman Catholics are guilty of idolatry. But if the bread is the very body of Christ then I am sinning for calling the Mass an act of idolatry and not believing in Jesus as He has manifested Himself. The people on the aforementioned website even claim themselves that The Mass is not idolatry simply because of the fact that the Eucharist is Christ.

In John 6:47 it says that unless we eat Jesus’ body and drink Jesus’ blood we have no life in ourselves. Jesus clearly says that the way to receive that life, which we receive by eating His body and drinking His blood in John 6:47 is by believing. It is not by eating communion or else how would the thief on the cross have been saved. It is true that we commune with Christ when we take communion, but not by the actual emblems. It is simply by belief and obedience in His commandment as happens when we believe and obey him in other matters. There is a greater significance however in that the bread and the cup are symbols. The cup itself symbolizes the New Covenant but I do not hear anyone saying that the cup has transformed into a covenant! In communion we relive the cross theatrically not actually, just as the Jews relived the exodus theatrically in the Passover. When Jews say that the matza is the bread of affliction, it did not turn into the actual bread they had in Egypt. Thus the Mass is idolatry in that the emblems do not turn into the very body and blood of Christ and thus they are worshipping bread and wine. If the Catholics are right then my soul is in eternal peril unless I recant and change my position.

Pope John Paul II spoke clearly of Eucharistic worship of Christ in the mass. Where do they meet Him? According to Catholic dogma the emblems are Christ. This is not far out heretical teachings from the lunatic fringe of Roman Catholicism but representative of the Catholic Church’s stance itself. There may be individuals in the Roman Catholic Church who do it in ignorance, but this is Roman Catholic dogma itself and not the lunatic fringe of the pre Vatican II crowd.

Some may say that Catholics merely worship Christ to whom the emblems of the bread and wine point. If only Catholics worshipped that to which the emblems pointed to! But this is not the doctrine of transubstantiation. The emblems do not merely point to the body and blood of Christ but they change substance to become the actual body and blood of Jesus. Even, if some do not hold to the traditional Catholic view, it is still the view of the church and the majority of the Catholic world holds to this. Again we reiterate that for the Catholic, they are not worshipping bread and wine, because for them it is not bread and wine. Those are just its accidents. Its essence or substance is Christ Himself. They meet Christ in the mass because they are literally eating Christ. Again if transubstantiation is true to regard them as merely symbolic would be to reject Christ as He has manifested Himself in our unbelief and thus we would be blaspheming against His very body and blood to speak against transubstantiation.

However it is argued that Catholics do not worship the Eucharist, which they also call the host. Dr Alan Schreck, associate professor of theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio states that “Catholics speak of the “real presence” of Christ in the bread and wine. This presence of Jesus can only be accepted by faith…. (We) simply affirm that Jesus’ words are literally true.** This is why RCs have great reverence for the bread and wine, since they believe the Word of God to be present in them….. Catholics do not ‘worship the host’ but worship Jesus Christ whom they discern by faith to be present in the host.”

This may perhaps show some difference of understanding within the Catholic Church. I know that Dr Alan Schreck is engaged in apologetics for the Catholic Church in the hope of welcoming protestants and evangelicals back home to mother church. http://www.franciscan.edu/News/Cardinal_Rigali_Apologists_Equip_the_Faithful/ . Yet the late Pope John Paul II, the head spokesperson for the Catholic Church answered the false claim that Catholics do not worship the Eucharistic host from in excerpts from his three day address in Pheonix Park, Ireland 1979. ‘The Eucharist, in the Mass and outside of the Mass, is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, and is therefore deserving of the worship that is given to the living God, and to him alone.’ www.therealpresence.org/eucharst/pea/pjpdevot.html

My friends, this is why I have put together the open letter and petition for David Sedaca and the Lausanne Consultation For Jewish Evangelism. More and more evangelicals are flirting with that false religion and it is time for God’s faithful to raise their voice in objection. “Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols?” – 2 Cor 6:14-16 “But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads my bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.” – Rev 2:20.

“I would like to start by way of illustration:

A Christian radio host promotes a worship meeting of Evangelical Christians with a known Paedophile and leader of a pro-homosexual ‘Christian’ group. This man claims how this meeting is important this meeting is in breaking down walls in the Christian church and such a meeting celebrates the unity that Christ brings. When asked why such a man promotes a meeting with a known Paedophile and representative of the homosexual lobby the radio presenter denies ever having promoted anything of the kind. When presented with evidence that the  radio presenter did actually promote such a meeting he responds by saying that he was only reporting on the meeting, and he neither condones or condemns such a meeting. Can I ask you how you would respond? Would you say that such a radio presenter does not need to be called to account? What about all the children who have been abused? What about the liberalisation of scripture’s teaching on sexual matters? Would you not make a voice? I know that members of the Roman Catholic Church would!

However, the Roman Catholic Church is a false religion. It is a pseudo form of Christianity which believes that Mary is co-mediator with Christ when 1 Tim 2:5 states that there is only one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. There is no mediator between man and Jesus. The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) teach their members to pray to the dead saints which is necromancy, something that Deut 18:11 God denounces as an abomination or to put it in laymans terms, a disgusting thing. The RCC teach that the bread and wine of communion actually turn into the actually body and blood of Jesus and they worship it. Jesus is clear that we do this in rememberance of Him and we share in His sacrifice by believing in His word and obeying it. (cf John 6:55-58 with John 6:47). To worship a piece of bread as if it is Jesus is idolatry which is a sin God strongly hates. These are just a couple of examples. Mike Gendron makes the following comparison between Jesus and the bible and the RCC:

Jesus and His Word teach…

• You are saved by faith and not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
• All who rely on observing the law (commandments) are under a curse (Galations 3:10).
• Salvation occurs at the moment you believe the Gospel (Ephesians 1:13).
• Jesus purifies sin (Hebrews 1:3).
• You can know for sure you are saved (1 John 5:13).
• The sacrifice of Jesus is finished (John 19:30).

The Pope and his church teach…

• You are saved by faith plus works.

The above illustration mirrors my actual experience with David Sedaca, Latin American co-ordinator of Lausanne Consultation for Jewish Evangelism (LCJE) a prestigious organisation which promotes Jewish Evangelism which includes some wonderful partners and members such as Jews for Jesus, Arnold Fruchtenbaum and Ariel Ministries, Tuvya Zaretsky, and Mitch Glaser with Chosen People Ministries. All have done some notably work in the body of Christ. However in LCJE’s newsletter “LCJE Bulletin 95″ David Sedaca praises an ecumenical gathering with a Roman Catholic Archbishop Monsignor Rivas of Saint Joseph Basilica as an important meeting which demonstrated the unity that Christ brings. David Sedaca claimed this explicitly. When I wrote to him privately to question him he did not respond. When I questioned again with witnesses he flatly denied having ever promoted any ecumenism. When I contacted him again stating the evidence, he claimed he was only reporting on the meeting and did not condone or condemn it. Surely brothers and sisters this is not good enough for a serious question directed at a serious issue? Do we let this go by in resignation or do we demand a better answer. By praising such an ecumenical meeting, promoting it and using it to speak of Christian unity and then failing to condemn it, does that not seem to you that he is in fact not condoning it but actively promoting it? I am hoping that with enough signatures LCJE will see that this is not a handful of trouble makers simply trying to stir up a nest but a genuine concern from a large section of the Evangelical Church. A Christian radio host promotes a worship meeting of Evangelical Christians with a known Paedophile and leader of a pro-homosexual ‘Christian’ group. This man claims how this meeting is important this meeting is in breaking down walls in the Christian church and such a meeting celebrates the unity that Christ brings. When asked why such a man promotes a meeting with a known Paedophile and representative of the homosexual lobby the radio presenter denies ever having promoted anything of the kind. When presented with evidence that the  radio presenter did actually promote such a meeting he responds by saying that he was only reporting on the meeting, and he neither condones or condemns such a meeting. Can I ask you how you would respond? Would you say that such a radio presenter does not need to be called to account? What about all the children who have been abused? What about the liberalisation of scripture’s teaching on sexual matters? Would you not make a voice? I know that members of the Roman Catholic Church would!

However, the Roman Catholic Church is a false religion. It is a pseudo form of Christianity which believes that Mary is co-mediator with Christ when 1 Tim 2:5 states that there is only one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. There is no mediator between man and Jesus. The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) teach their members to pray to the dead saints which is necromancy, something that Deut 18:11 God denounces as an abomination or to put it in laymans terms, a disgusting thing. The RCC teach that the bread and wine of communion actually turn into the actually body and blood of Jesus and they worship it. Jesus is clear that we do this in rememberance of Him and we share in His sacrifice by believing in His word and obeying it. (cf John 6:55-58 with John 6:47). To worship a piece of bread as if it is Jesus is idolatry which is a sin God strongly hates. These are just a couple of examples. Mike Gendron makes the following comparison between Jesus and the bible and the RCC:

We are all from different ministries and churches but we have seen the importance to sign a petition like this so that even if we cannot change LCJE we can save some of its members from ecumenical compromise. It is my hope that through this petition and other peoples efforts we will make the danger of ecumenical compromise an unavoidable issue to our evangelical people.

I am writing to you to express concern at what strongly and plainly appears to be the promotion and encouragement, the condoning of ecumenism which has been denied by David Sedaca but is clearly evident in the following correspondence.

I am writing after reading a couple of your reports on the LCJE newsletter feb editions for this year and I believe two years ago, 2009 where you spoke of a couple of ecumenical meetings, one more ecumenical than the other. You praised the “importance” of such an event and seemed in the last February article to be promoting such unions between evangelical Christian groups and with the Roman Catholic clergy if not roman Catholicism. As you can see by my first name, I have Portuguese background, that is on my mothers side, and I can strongly and securely assert that the Roman Catholic gospel is another gospel. The dogmas of the mass, which is tantamount to idolatry as the mass is to be worshipped according to the teachings of the church, the prayers to dead saints, the rosary with it’s prayers to Mary, the pope’s present familial relationships with other religious groups plus the last pope’s acknowledgement of the legitimacy of other faiths, both the last popes and the present popes veneration of Mary and assertions of her active role as co redeemer and co mediator with Christ, their stance of antagonism against the assurance of salvation which they regard as the sin of presumption,  their view that a single man can assume the place of Jesus Christ of earth and many other things baffles me as to how you can so happily promote fellowship and participation with the clergy of the Roman Catholic Church who stand there representing their false religion without a distancing of those false doctrines. I believe that we should not split hairs over minor doctrines that do not affect ones salvation, such as when is ones view of the rapture, are tongues for today, etc but I am sure that you are aware that if one preaches a different gospel he is to be accursed and any believer who is an unrepentant idolator is to be excommunicated from the church. So why was a roman catholic clergy man who would be well versed in the doctrine of transubstantiation which is ‘idolatry in the name of Christ’ be celebrated in his participation of the ecumenical meeting? Did he distance himself from the Vatican stating that he is not in accord with the dogmas of Rome that I have highlighted? Is he fighting against his own church concerning those essential doctrines that Rome contradicts of our faith? Is this man denying the idea of the pope being the vicar of Christ and forbidding prayers to the dead in the catholic churches. I do not think so or the Catholic Church would have defrocked him. Even if he had publically rejected catholic heresy I find it strange that you did not try to distance yourself from the ecumenical movement and state that you do not accept roman Catholicism as a genuine and biblical form of Christianity. Such unity is not that which Jesus prayed for when He prayed for those who would believe through the apostles’ word. Thus true unity can only come when we hold to apostolic truth as contained in the new testament scriptures and not through compromise with proponents of a different gospel. I am much grieved by such ties. It is as if churches that were so pure have fallen down with the best. We need to have both love and truth and may our love abound between ourselves, but not at the expense of biblical truth. Please my brother make a stand against the ecumenical movement. Make a stand against unity with the church of Rome. Make a clear stand such as our brother Arnold Fruchtenbaum makes that the Roman Catholic Church is a false church and it’s doctrines are unbiblical.

I urge you in the name and love of Christ to publically refute ecumenicism with Roman Catholic clergy and churches and to promote biblical unity among evangelicals.

As you can see this “Annual Report 2008 for LCJE Latin America” By David Sedaca, LCJE coordinator for Latin America, of Chosen People is promoting ecumenism with Roman Catholic Officials as important and speaking of our unity in Messiah. I hope that an LCJE conference in Latin America will not follow suite. Nothing was said that such ecumenism is a betrayal of our Lord Yeshua. I only ask if the other David Sedaca of chosen people ministries can answer my questions especially concerning for the fact that in LCJE Bulletin issue 103, Feb 2011(page 4) he is still calling for unity and building bridges and not walls, which when compared to the 2008 report would indicate an inclusion ecumenical unity with Roman Catholic clergy. Have I missed something? Have I missed a report where David Sedaca has highlighted the need to refrain from ecumenical unity with Roman Catholic churches and from Roman Catholic Clergy representing the Roman Catholic Church?

I write again concerning all of the information written below in the various emails below. I praise the fact that more evangelical believers are seeing the need to have a more positive and proactive participation regarding the evangelisation of Jewish people. I strongly and wholeheartedly condemn replacement theology. It is a most wicked heresy. The subject of Israel’s election is one of my passions, though not displacing my passion for Yeshua Himself nor the great commission to all nations. I applaud the contribution LCJE and its affiliates have made towards this end, and yet I have been troubled concerning what I see as the recommendation of Ecumenism in the LCJE Bulletin. I saw no warning of the automatic danger of working alongside Roman Catholic Clergy or Roman Catholic Churches but rather the praising of such initiatives even going so far as to hoping that LCJE would have their own conference in this vein in Latin America in the near future. This report to all intents and purposes was condoning an ecumenical meeting.
 
David Sedeca, you wrote that you were merely reporting on an ecumenical meeting not condoning or condemning it. Yet to the contrary your report did not remain neutral for one cannot be neutral on such an issue. You either acknowledge the ligitmacy of such an ecumenical meeting with a Roman Catholic Official as key speaker or you reject such a meeting as not maintaining the unity that is to be found in the Biblical Jesus but maintaining instead a false unity that brings evangelicals together with those who represent a church of idolatry (in the mass and in the veneration of images), of necromancy (with prayers to the dead), of a false gospel (that believes in Mary as co-mediator and co-redemptress with Christ), and the list can go on. In Rev 2:20 Jesus has this against the Church of Thyatira, that she tolerated the woman Jezebel, who called herself a prophetess, and she taught and led Yeshua’s bondservants astray so that they committed immorality and ate things sacrificed to idols. You should not even tolerate such meetings but instead you spoke in glowing terms of such a meeting saying that it was important to have such a high ranking archbishop in the Roman Catholic Church participating and you said of such a meeting of ”Catholics, evangelicals, and Messianic Jews coming together celebrating with choirs and music the unity that comes through Jesus.”
 
As you you know, the WCC, LCWE and the LCJE are intimately involved with each other. Two of the three groups are openly ecumenical with Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, general secretary of the World Council of Churches, addressing the 3rd LCWE. He said to the 3rd LCWE in Cape Town 17 Oct 2010 that he was honoured to be there with a delegation from the World Council of Churches and to greet them on behalf of this global fellowship of Orthodox, Protestant, Old Catholic, Anglican and Pentecostal member churches. Mr Kjaer-Hanson, it is of the LCWE that LCJE grants it is highest recommendation and count themselves as part of the Lausanne family. My brothers, WCC and LCWE has started and rapidly continues into the depths of compromise with ecumenical unity which is not Christ’s unity but a unity that is demonically inspired.
 
Mr Sedaca and Mr Kjaer-Hanson, I beg you not to speak of such ecumenical meetings with such favour. Please answer me that LCJE will not get involved with any unity or partnership with Roman Catholic Churches or Officials representing that false religion. Please answer me that David Sedaca will put out a public statement of apology for giving the impression that he promotes ecumenical gatherings with Roman Catholic Officials and that LCJE promises it will never entertain, endorse or participate with Roman Catholic Officials or churches in such meetings or in evangelism. As I wrote in a previous email, see below, if it was a minor doctrinal difference such as the timing of the rapture or whether tongues are for today etc there would be no need for me to write. But Roman Catholic Officials represent a Church that preaches a false gospel and Paul writes in Galatians that all who preach a different gospel are to be accursed.
 
I have included some more people of trustworthy ministries that I respect to witness our correspondence to one another. You cannot see my heart through an email, God does. I send you this email with all sincerity of heart in the truth of the Gospel and of concern for people that would be lead into ecumenical compromise through reports or writings that promote such ecumenical gatherings.

In light of this email correspondence with Mr Sedaca, I appeal to the leaders of LCJE in the holy name of Jesus, our only saviour, our only redeemer, our only mediator, the only one whom we should pray through, if you fear the Lord and honour His word and the purity of His gospel, I appeal to you to turn from promoting such ecumenical meetings, to make a stand against it and to give your readers guarantees that LCJE will not participate in partnerships or meetings that bring evangelical churches together with catholic churches or the clergies that represent those churches. Yes, reach Catholics and turn them away from the veneration of Mary, from praying the rosary, from praying to dead saints, from the idolatry of the mass. But please do not tolerate the woman Jezebel as if this demonstrates the unity that Messiah brings! Should we take Christ’s members and join them with harlots?! Rather we should come of from them and be separate says Adonai. Then Adonai will receive us and we will be sons and daughters to Him and He will be a Father to us.
